Deer

I hate it when people roll down their car windows and yell at you when you're walking.
Especially when it's the dumb ass bitches from your school flaunting that they have their G2.
---

I need some practice working with tones, I feel I rely too much on the gradient tool to blend my colours for me and I wimp out on using more powerful colours for shading. So this was a bit of a push towards the right direction shading wise. I've also been working on writing font and font placement, it's so much fun ;u;!
No reference either. I feel pretty good.

Portfolio Pieces: Bag and Piano

Couple of portfolio pics that I haven't bothered uploading (I have more but I need to take pictures of them)

A piano from the early 1900s that we got from a family friend. It's an absolutely gorgeous piano with really intricate detailing on it and the wood colour is so beautiful. I really do love it, but sadly no one in my family can play anything more that Doe-a-Deer.
Now it's furniture.
I should take some lessons one day, maybe move some stuff... e_e

Sheridan wants a picture of "everyday objects". I'm pretty sure they interpreted this as fruits and that which you paint like a master, BUT I CHOSE SOMETHING DIFFERENT (go me).
I decided to draw my everyday objects, such as my handy-dandy sketchbook, my wallet, and iPod. My phone's squished in there too but it's not that important. Also a Scott Pilgrim comic was there (SCOTT PILGRIM YESSSSS -superfangirl-)
I messed up on the strap though, one part's supposed to be longer and then there would be more room for the headphone chords and ahh it was a mess v_v I'm not going back (plus I had to return Scott Pilgrim to the library ;n;)

Again, I apologize for the terrible image quality. My camera's really starting to kick the bucket.

Rabbit Heart

"Here I am a rabbit hearted girl"
- Rabbit Heart (Raise it Up) - Florence and the Machine
---

Since I uploaded it onto dA I thought I might as well upload it here too (days later...) and maybe offer more of an explanation.

You really have to listen to the song to understand the mood I was going for (how do you put music into these thing >:I?). In the song she mentions how she needs to change from a weak, delicate person (rabbit hearted girl) to being a brave and strong women (lion-hearted). So this image is basically the turmoils of realizing she must change from what she has always been and become something new. I'd like to relate this feeling to weight loss, because you know you need to change but it's damn hard (and I always lose sobsob)

The rabbits coming out of her are supposed to be cute, like rabbits usually are, yet slightly unnerving. The slitty punk double eyes are supposed to install some sort of menacing feeling to the animals. As well, when they are coming out of her "heart" it's supposed to look extremely painful like they're unwanted spirits that are having fun staying in her body.

I choose yellow for the background for the fact that yellow symbolizes cowardness, but at the same time can mean something warm and comforting. All other colour choices were made because I like pink |D
